About ION
Charged for Boardroom Change
The InterOrganization Network www.ionwomen.org is a national nonprofit organization representing more than 10,000 women dedicated to increasing representation of women on for-profit boards and in executive suites. ION creates a national voice for its 14 regional member organizations to influence, build awareness and expand opportunities and connections.
In the U.S., the number of women advancing to the senior ranks – the executive suite and boardroom – remains stagnant. We believe America's leading companies must move faster to improve the representation of women in positions of leadership. At a time when public companies have drawn intense scrutiny for lapses in corporate governance and failures in leadership, they can ill afford to ignore the talent and perspective available in half the population and nearly half the work force. By developing corporate leadership that includes the talents of all and better reflects the composition of today's workforce, consumers, society, and business will benefit.
